What is a security deposit?

The rental deposit is the sum of money paid by the tenant to the lessor (owner or agency) when signing the rental contract.

It serves as an insurace in the event of damage or unpaid rent during the rental period. The amount of the security deposit is equivalent to a maximum of one month's rent including charges (in the case of unfurnished rentals) or two months' rent including charges (in the case of furnished rentals).
